Corday Dimilo Duffy

We regret to inform you of the death of a six-year-old child who lost his life in Lake Allatoona.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Deputy Lt. Jay Baker, Corday Dimilo Duffy of College Park went missing from his family’s campsite on the lake on Friday evening, June 13, 2014, around 7:15 PM.

Sadly, the young boy’s body was found early Saturday morning in an area 25-30 feet from shore in about five feet of water.

A large log protruded from the shoreline into the water in the area where the boy was located.  Lt. Baker said it was possible the child “may have walked out on the log and then fell in water just over his head.”

An autopsy performed by the medical examiner at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Lab confirmed on Monday, June 15th that the child died as a result of drowning.

We extend our condolences to the family and friends of young Corday Dimilo Duffy.
