Our friends at the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) office at Lake Allatoona have two very special job openings for Summer Rangers.

This is a real job where people really have to work hard, but it still sounds like a tremendous opportunity.

A bad day at a park on Lake Allatoona beats most good days on other jobs.

Qualifications

Positions are open to current students in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.

Duties

You will work under general supervision performing the following duties:

  • Collect park entrance fees from visitors
  • Verify visitors to the park have the necessary entrance permit
  • Furnish and explain to visitors rules and regulations of the park
  • Inspect area and facilities for maintenance, litter, and hazards
  • Operate a motor vehicle and 2-way radio equipment
