2016 Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup Volunteers Needed

Mark your calendars, it’s time to give back.  The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup is coming up and volunteers are needed.  The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup and its partners promote environmental stewardship of the watershed through education, preservation,  conservation and volunteerism.

Great Lake Alltoona Cleanup Saturday, September 24th

Spread the word,  invite a friend, register to volunteer and help make a difference.  This year’s cleanup is scheduled for National Public Lands Day, which is Saturday, September 24th.  Volunteers are needed to help pick up trash at approximately 50 locations around the lake.

Enjoy a day out with the family.  Set the example and show your kids how to protect and love their environment.  Have fun doing it.  Plan a date with a friend to pick up trash, or meet new ones beautifying our wonderful lake. Whichever way you choose to volunteer, whether it being solo, with the family, or with friends, you are making a difference.

Last year’s Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup brought out over 4,100 volunteers, who picked up 5 tons of trash and over 300 tires!  Let’s make 2016’s Cleanup an even “greener” success.  Do your part in spreading the word, registering to volunteer and taking part in the Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup on September 24th.
