There is only one flaw about the tour of The Rose Lawn Museum in Cartersville, Georgia. The walls cannot talk about all the amazing things that happened at this magnificently restored Victorian palace over the years.

Rose Lawn Museum
Rose Lawn began as a small, one-story structure designed and built by local merchant Nelson Gilreath in the 1860s. The attic was converted to bedrooms about 1872, and, following Sam Jones’s purchase of the property in the early 1880s, a two-story wing was added to the rear of the house.
No wonder this exquisite manor was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
Once the home of nationally renowned evangelist Samuel Porter Jones — for whom Nashville’s Union Gospel Tabernacle (Ryman Auditorium) was built — the home was purchased by Bartow County and developed into a museum in 1978.
Local citizens raised money for Bartow County to purchase this masterpiece. They created a museum to house the writings and memorabilia of Sam Jones, and Rebecca Latimer Felton — another lady from Bartow County who was the first woman to serve in the U.S. Senate.
The museum is home to the Rose Lawn Arts Festival each September.
