Default fishing

Does anyone know what the fishing is like here? We are looking for a place to stay for a good week fishing trip. Any recommendations regarding types of fish, seasonal techniques, and accommodations would be helpful.

My understanding is the Lake Allatoona is mostly just stocked with bass, and tons of crappie.

Crappie usually travel in schools, so you can catch several at a time. They like hanging around logs, boat docks, etc.

Minnows are their favorite and small artificials that imitate minnows work well too. Fish for crappies with lightweight 2 to 4 pound line with light spinning tackle.

Bass fishin' is real good up there despite what some say. It doesn?t make many bass-club tournament schedules, but that's because of some of the lakes in south Georgia. February is the best month for bass in Allatoona. not much in the summer. Plenty of 5 pounders rest of the year. A pumpkinseed, and blacks and browns are my standards there.
