I have been on the water everyday this week and Fishing is still FANTASTIC for numbers and quality is improving.
With the cold snap and the 25mph + winds on top of us it really got the fish mad and fired up now. Today I got out with Brian to whack some fish out of Red Top this am. Obviously with the wind and colder weather we had to improvise some. We started off with the the Run and Shoot with Mini Me's the first thing in the am to figure out what the deal was going to be for the day and fairly quickly we found that wherever you caught fish you can almost duplicate it elsewhere on the lake. After about 2 hrs we were able to run a fairly good pattern pushing us close to 20 fish and maybe all but one was 12 inches. We also saw some dang nice fish as followers and also some nice ones busting shad nearby. Most fish were a little on the bigger side than in the previous reports ranging from 1.5-3lbs+. We caught quite a few on Mini Me spinnerbaits and some on jerkbaits and swimbaits and what little I threw senkos I did get one hit out of the 10 casts that I threw it. We also saw quite a bit of schooling today even though we had the 25mph winds to deal with. Do pay close attention to exactly what your fish are showing you as there was a morning pattern then it switched over to an afternoon pattern that were distinctively different from each other. For those of you that think the fish pulled off the bed due to this cold front and winds. Think again. We saw quite a few bedding fish in the very few places that we looked. I would imagine that you could run beds now and do fairly well with a little bit of patience and virtue.
