The Visitor Center Loop is a 3/4 mile Moderate hike that begins one hundred yards down Sweetgum Trail from the Red Top Mountain State Park Visitor Center parking area. The Visitor Center Loop bears a sharp right at the point where the Sweetgum Trail bears a sharp left.

(Don’t worry, there are signs.  You probably won’t be eaten by lions, tigers and bears.  Oh, my!)

The trail winds through a shaded hardwood forest.  You’ll love the small spring-fed stream and two viewing/relaxation platforms.

Remember, a bad day in the woods is better than a good day watching television.
