Whitetail Trail is a one-mile Moderate hike that begins at the parking lot of the former lodge at Red Top Mountain State Park.

It shares a trailhead with the Sweetgum Trail loop. Whitetail Trail then turns off, and goes north to the end of a scenic point at the edge of Lake Allatoona.  The view makes the walk in the woods even more perfect.

Pack light, but be sure to carry enough water for yourself and your companions.  It never hurts to keep a whistle and a flashlight in your pack too.
