43 teams competed in the professional KCBS contest. Category winners included Pop’s Blazin Smokers for chicken, Chatham Artillery BBQ for ribs, Johnny Mitchell’s Smokehouse for pork and TNT Southern BBQ for beef brisket. Complete results are posted at www.kcbs.us.

The trophies were one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic pots with sculpted pigs designed by nationally known artist Patty Caldwell.

In other competitions, 13 year old Elijah Strobeck won the Guitar Hero contest and took home a PS3 game console.

Finalists for the KenneSong event included Amy Sepke, Richard Benson, Grant McCloud, Jason Turner, Emily Priborkin and Sydney Wender. Each finalist’s audition is posted on www.kennesawwifi.net; visitors to the site will vote for the winner. Voting is open until August 31, so log on and choose your favorite.
