National Trails Day Celebration at Red Top Mountain
The American Hiking Society (AHS) would like you to take a hike on Saturday, June 6, 2014, and they’d like you to take everybody you know along with you.
That’s because the first Saturday in June is designated as National Trails Day, when the AHS hopes you’ll discover new ways to enjoy the outdoors.
Taking part in National Trails Day activities — including hiking, biking, paddling, horseback riding, trail running, bird watching and more — can inspire you to find new ways to experience nature for the rest of your life.
Ranger Marcus will lead a 3.5 mile hike on beautiful Red Top Mountain State Park’s Sweet Gum Trail.
Please Note: Gum will not be provided. Please bring your own gum and water, along with appropriate clothing and footwear. Thank you.
Ranger Marcus says the trail is “easy to moderate” in difficulty. In other words, it won’t kill you to hike it.
Probably.
But how will you know if you don’t try?
