Line Sides: Good.

Most of the bait and fish have moved south and can be found from the dam to the blockhouse.  Small gizzard shad along with small trout fished on free-lines and planer boards are working best early. Once the sun comes up, switch to down-lining these same baits at 20-30 feet deep out over the river.

We also have a very good umbrella rig bite going on right now. I am pulling a Mack Farr 4 arm 3 oz. loaded rig. Pull your rigs at 2.9-3.3 MPH at 120 feet back.

Our better fish this past week have come on live bait, but we are also catching some good ones on rigs. The spoon bite is good. I am using a 1/2 white Flexit spoon on the south end flats and points.

Overall, the bite is extremely good for this time of year. If we get any kind of warm up, I look for the bite to stay steady the rest of the winter.

Call me and we’ll catch you some fish!
