Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup Volunteers

The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup (GLAC) is the best reason to hit the lake with your friends.

Any day is good for having fun on the water, but GLAC is when you give something back — by taking garbage out.

The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2015.

For the 30th year, kind volunteers will pitch in to pitch junk out of Allatoona, led by the Lake Allatoona Association, a non-profit volunteer organization.

The amount of garbage retrieved from Lake Allatoona is less each year.  There’s still too much, so GLAC invites you to come to one of 50 locations to help around the lake.

Volunteers are asked to arrive between 8 and 8:30 AM on Saturday the 12th.  Please wear clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty.  Wear sturdy shoes, not sandals, and bring a pair of gloves.  Organizers will give you garbage bags.

Afterwards, come to the volunteer appreciation picnic at Cartersville’s Riverside Day Use Park, from 12 PM until 2 PM.

GLAC is a good time for a great cause.

Thanks to the Lake Allatoona Association and all those who help with the Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup!
