Booth Western Art Museum

Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville with 120,000 square feet is the second largest museum in the state of Georgia and recognized as one of the best art museums in America.

“Booth houses the largest permanent exhibition space for Western art in America.  Galleries feature contemporary Western American art, historic Western art, Civil War art, Presidential portraits and letters, Western movie posters and Western illustrations. ”

The best way to begin your visit is with the award winning orientation film, The American West shown every 20 minutes in the multimedia theatre. The museum offers a docent led Highlights Tour at 1:30 pm daily as well as a docent led Outdoor Sculptures Tour at 11:15 am on Tuesday through Saturday. Both these tours are included in the regular admission and are limited to fifteen guests on a first come first served basis.

The museum is home to more than a dozen permanent galleries featuring paintings, sculptures, photography and artifacts. The Museum’s Special and Temporary Exhibit Galleries host ten to twelve fascinating temporary exhibits per year.

Bring the kids!  Those who are 12 and under are admitted for free, with a paying adult.  Sagebrush Ranch — an interactive gallery where children of all ages can learn about art and Western America — will keep your little cowhands happily engaged.
