Sweetwater Creek Campground

Sweetwater Creek Campground is a well-maintained Army Corps of Engineers facility, not far from Canton, GA, with 151 spacious campsites on Lake Allatoona. Lakefront sites are also available, giving visitors panoramic views of this spectacular body of water.

You won’t believe you’re only an hour from the world’s busiest airport.   There are 43 sites for tent camping without electricity.  (Yes, some people actually prefer to camp like “campers.”)  For the rest of us, there are 108 “normal” sites with water and electric hookups – one is reserved for RVs.  Want to camp with a group of friends?  This is the place!  There is an area at Sweetwater Creek Campground specifically set aside for groups.

Please Note

Sweetwater Creek Campground closes for the season after Labor Day.

Lake Allatoona is one of the nation’s most frequently visited Corps of Engineers lakes. Nearly seven million visitors each year enjoy picnicking, swimming, camping, hunting, fishing, boating and observing wildlife along the 270 miles of shoreline.

The lake is annually restocked with bass, crappie, bream, gar and catfish, making it a popular destination for anglers. Fishing jetties are available at numerous shoreline fishing locations, and a dock is provided at the campground.
