Located near the Visitor Center, Cooper’s Furnace Day Use Area is open seasonally. Two pleasant shelters, each seating 60 visitors, make this a popular park. A fun playground is between the shelters.
Cooper’s Furnace Day Use Area has a horseshoe pit and a volleyball court. Horseshoes and a volleyball are often available from the onsite Park Hosts. Picnic tables and grills are conveniently located.
An interesting iron furnace from the 1800s is also within the park.
