Pine Mountain Trail

Pine Mountain Trail, managed by the city of Cartersville, is a Moderate to Strenuous difficulty trail, used by hikers and off-road bicycle enthusiasts.

There are two loops connecting Pine Mountain: the East Loop and the West Loop. This is a rugged and challenging hike that reaches 1,562 feet above sea level.  Once you reach the top of this mountain you will be at the highest point in the City of Cartersville.

Hikers are welcome on Pine Mountain Trail seven days a week from dawn to dusk.

Mountain bikers are welcome on Wednesdays and Saturdays on the East Loop only.  All bikers must wear a helmet and follow the color-directional signs for those days.

Please don’t ride too fast at Pine Mountain Trail.

Mountain bikers would have us remind hikers that bikers are not as nimble as gazelle, able to leap effortlessly over herds of hikers grazing in the center of this shared path.

Hikers want bikers to know it’s hard to avoid bikers in goofy outfits blasting through the woods faster than lions and tigers and bears.

Thank you.  May bikers and hikers live long and prosper.  Yes, on the same trails.
