Modern Square Dance Lessons in Acworth
The Acworth Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with the T-Squares, a square Dance club based in Acworth, to offer modern square dance lessons. Join us Monday, September 14, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a FREE Open House. Get a preview of the class and enjoy free food, music and dancing.
Square Dancing is the oldest form of community celebrations in America. Once divided by geography, it has now been standardized into one worldwide dance system. The same calls taught here are used in countries all over the world and they are all in English!!! Square Dancing is an excellent form of exercise with dancers covering between 3 and 4 miles per dance night. Come and enjoy music, laughter and your neighbors every Monday night as you learn and then dance what you have learned that evening.
Classes will be held at the Roberts School Community and Education Center from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and start on Monday, September 21. The class will run for 10 weeks, ending on November 23. The cost is $50.00 for City of Acworth residents and $55.00 for non-residents.
The course instructor is Tom Meehan, caller for the T-SQUARES square dance club. Tom is a member of CallerLab, AASDCA, Metro Atlanta Square Dance Assoc., Ga.State Sq.Dance Assoc. and licensed by Ascap and BMI.
