Day-Use Parks Abound on Lake Allatoona

Lake Allatoona offers more than a dozen picture-perfect parks managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to spend the day reading in the breeze, boating, playing ball or cooking out with friends and family.

They all have restrooms, but there’s a variety of amenities available:

  • ball fields
  • fishing jetties
  • picnic tables
  • swimming beaches
  • horse-shoe pits
  • volleyball areas and
  • large picnic shelters.

The picnic shelters are ideal for family reunions, birthday parties or company gatherings, but they must be reserved in advance.  Please call 678-721-6700 for available dates.

All USACE day-use parks are open from 8 AM until 9 PM through the end of July.  On August 1st through August 21st parks will open at 8 AM and close at 8 PM.  Alcohol is not allowed in USACE parks at any time.

Boat ramps are open 24/7 for launching and landing boats, depending on water levels in the lake.

If the USACE parks on Lake Allatoona aren’t convenient, you may choose from ten other state, county and municipal parks located around the lake.

 Park Fees

  • A Facility Use fee of $4 per vehicle is charged at day use areas that have beaches.
  • A $3 boat launching fee is charged at day use areas with boat launching ramps.
  • A Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Pass may be purchased for $30.  The Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Pass is honored at Corps of Engineers day use areas and boat launching ramps nationwide.
