Vineyard Mountain Trail Reopens January 1, 2019

The Vineyard Mountain Trail reopens on January 1, 2019 following scheduled hunting activities in the area.  If “absence makes the heart grow fonder,” you’ll love walking that path more than ever in the New Year.

The trailheads for this popular pathway are easily found at both the Riverside Day Use Area and near Bethany Bridge.  In the meantime, you can spend some time on Cooper’s Furnace Trail, Pine Mountain Trail or one at Red Top Mountain State Park on Lake Allatoona.

Although we all understand that it’s best not to hike when armed men and women are out shooting — in Detroit or local forests — we’ll be glad when Vineyard Mountain Trail reopens on New Year’s Day 2019, after being shut down for the entire month of December.

We have descriptions of many other hiking trails near Lake Allatoona.  Read about them, try them out and choose your favorite to return to whenever you need a bit of Hiking Therapy.

Hiking Therapy is much better for your health than Retail Therapy.  It’s also far cheaper than buying new shoes, curtains or motorcycles when the going gets tough.

Don’t ask me how I know.
