Veterans Day Ceremony in Acworth on 11-10

Please join our neighbors and friends in Acworth on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM, to honor our nation’s veterans.  Acworth is proud to have these brave men and women living in our community.  What better way to honor them than to host a Veterans Day Ceremony.

The gathering will take place at Cauble Park’s Patriots Point, home of the Veterans Memorial.  The people of Acworth want to express everyone’s gratitude for those who faithfully served their country in the past, as well as those who are now serving.

If you have not seen the Veterans Memorial at Patriot’s Point, you’ll love seeing the service flags of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Cost Guard around the American flag.

The concrete dome structure is surrounded by a paved walkway with engraved pavers.  You can honor a veteran by purchasing an engraved paver.

  • They are available in 4×4 or 8×8 sizes.
  • With the 4×4, you get 3 lines — each with up to 18 characters engraved on the pavers.
  • The 8×8 comes with 4 lines — each with up to 18 characters engraved on it.
  • Pavers purchased after October 12th will be placed in the ground after the Veterans Day Ceremony.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Richard “Dick” Bailey.   Mr. Bailey was a First Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corp from 1942-1946.  He completed a tour of 65 missions in a B-26 bomber.  He earned two Distinguished Flying Crosses, 13 Air Medals, and five Battle Stars.

Come and say thanks to those who fought for America’s freedom, at 2 PM on Saturday, November 10th at Cauble Park.
