Tellus Science Museum Presents: Jurassic Park

Tellus Science Museum — Cartersville’s best kept secret — invites you to Jurassic Park (don’t worry, the monsters won’t get you) on Saturday, April 21, 2012.

There probably isn’t a more boring word than “lecture,” but don’t let that fool you.  Ralph Dutra — who has received two Oscar nominations for his work as an animation director — will give a “lecture” that you and the kids will never forget.

Mr. Dutra was a special effects artist for Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park II.  He’ll be telling you about how it was done.  A California native, Mr. Dutra’s career in visual effects began in 1981 with Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.  He’s also worked on the movies Gremlins, Robocop, 101 Dalmatians, and War of the Worlds.

Following the 2 PM lecture, the movie, Jurassic Park, will be shown at 3:30 PM at Tellus.

If you don’t have your own children to share this enlightening and entertaining afternoon of art, science, and filmmaking, borrow your neighbor’s kids.  (They won’t mind, if you get permission first.)

The lecture and the movie screening are free for members and included in regular admission for non-members.
