A Department of Natural Resources officer confirmed with that a boating accident took place around midnight on Friday night, May 24, 2013, on Lake Lanier near Old Federal Park.

Two people were injured when their Sea-Doo jet boat was heavily damaged after being struck by a boat that left the scene after the accident.

The victims have not been identified and were reported in stable condition at Gainesville’s Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The boat that hit the Sea-Doo might have been a dark colored pontoon boat, but the investigation is still in its earliest stages.
