Update: Lake Allatoona Tubing Accident Victim in Hospital has Died

A young Roswell woman ended yesterday in critical condition after hitting her head while tubing behind a boat on Lake Allatoona.

The accident happened around 5 pm near Little River Marina. The victim slid off the tube and landed face first into the rock. Compounding the problems were that the woman was approximately 1500 yards off-shore and not wearing a life jacket. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department said she is in “extremely critical condition.”

The driver of the boat will face charges for reckless operation of a watercraft and for pulling someone without a life jacket.
